The Chemistry Laboratory consists of three groups:
Elemental Analysis Group
Chromatography Group
Mass Spectrometry Group of Excellence

The Chemistry Laboratory is a department of the BIOR Institute, which studies and analyses chemical parameters in food products, environmental samples and other objects. It has the largest range of chromatographic and mass spectrometric equipment of any laboratory in the Baltic States, as well as highly qualified scientific and technical staff.

The Chemistry Laboratory is a unit of the BIOR Institute, which is dedicated to the study and analysis of chemical parameters in foodstuffs, environmental samples and other objects. It has the largest range of chromatographic and mass spectrometric equipment of any laboratory in the Baltic States, as well as highly qualified scientific and technical staff.

The laboratory employs a number of PhD chemists who carry out research on the distribution of chemical pollutants and develop modern analytical methods. We are proud that more than 100 publications by our colleagues are included in the Scopus database.

The BIOR Institute’s chemistry laboratory performs a number of national reference functions in cooperation with European reference laboratories. Several scientists from the laboratory represent Latvia in European expert working groups, providing their opinion and expertise on important issues.
