The main function of the Quality Department is to maintain and improve the quality management system at the Institute “BIOR” and to prepare the institute’s laboratories for accreditation. To fulfill this function, the department:

  • updates the latest information and provides consultations on quality management,
  • plans and conducts internal audits of the institute,
  • implements internal auditor training,
  • informs about the latest regulatory acts and documents,
  • ensures efficient circulation of quality management system documents (procedures, forms, accreditation information, testing scopes),
  • organizes the storage, archiving, and retrieval of the institute’s documents,
  • organizes and coordinates interlaboratory comparative testing (ICT), prepares plans, approves, and registers execution. Prepares reports on ICT results.

Accreditation

The laboratories of the Institute “BIOR” have been assessed and accredited in accordance with the requirements of LVS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories” and LVS EN ISO 15189:2013 “Medical laboratories – Requirements for quality and competence.”

The institute is responsible for selecting testing methods, their application, performance, and compliance with legislative requirements. In daily operations, standardized testing methods (ISO, EN, LVS standards, methods included in EU regulations, NMKL, etc.) and in-house developed methods are used in the institute’s laboratories.

The institute’s laboratories have been accredited since 1995, and currently, the accreditation scope includes more than 400 testing methods, covering various types of analyses and almost fully ensuring the implementation of official national control programs.

Customer feedback on the services of the Institute “BIOR” is an important factor in shaping the institute’s reputation as a reliable partner. The review and analysis of incoming suggestions and complaints are focused on improving work quality and ensuring customer trust. The evaluation of proposals and complaints within the institute is carried out in accordance with an approved procedure.
