BIOR among the laureates of Latvia’s most significant scientific achievements of 2025

The Latvian Academy of Sciences (LAS) has announced the most significant scientific achievements in Latvia for 2025, concluding the evaluation of applications submitted to its annual competition. Out of a total of 55 applications in various fields of science, the Academy has selected 12 outstanding scientific works as winners.

Fish farms

Fish farms fulfill the national fish resource reproduction program and annually release at least 2,600,000 fry of various fish species and 11,600,000 fish larvae into Latvian waters. For the needs of private fish farmers and pond owners, juveniles of rainbow trout, sturgeon, zander, tench and carp are bred.
