On January 1, 2019, the BIOR institute, in cooperation with the National Agency for Education Development (SEDA), launched a research application No. 1.1.1.2/VIAA/2/18/247 ” Ultra-high-resolution mass spectrometry as an effective tool for the analysis of food contamination: development of new analytical methods and application to real samples”. The project is implemented by leading researcher Dzintars Zacs.

During the reference period from 01.04.2021 to 30.06.2021 an analytical method for determination of chlorinated alkanes was validated and applied for the analysis of baby food samples. Observed data were summarized and systematized. Preparation of scientific publication on the basis of these results is in progress.

Cooperation institution SEDA. Project duration is 36 months. The total cost of the project is EUR 133 805.88, of which 85% (EUR 113 734.98) is the European Regional Development Fund.
