Project entitled “Simultaneous recovery of proteins and microelements from food waste streams and the processing of agricultural residues into products with high added value” (No. 1.1.1.2/VIAA/2/18/248) has been launched

On January 1, 2019, with the cooperation of the State Education Development Agency (SEDA), the implementation of the project No. 1.1.1.2/VIAA/2/18/248 “Simultaneous recovery of proteins and microelements from food waste streams and the processing of agricultural residues into products with high added value” has been launched within the institute “BIOR”. The project is implemented by the leading researcher Artis Robalds.

Planned activities in the 1st stage of 2019 (01.01.2019-31.03.2019):

  • To complete the work on preparing a review article (as a co-author) about the use of biosorbents for the removal of pollutants for submission to the Water – Open Access Journal.
  • To prepare information for publishing at www.researchgate.net and www.biosorption.info.
  • To continue literature studies about biosorbents and characterization of the agricultural residues.
  • To attend English courses.
  • To take part in courses on food chemistry and product analysis. 

The cooperating institution – The State Education Development Agency (SEDA). The duration of the project – 36 months. Total costs – 133 805.88 EUR, of which 85% (113 734.98 EUR) is financed by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
