Progress report of the twelfth period of the post-doctoral research project 1.1.2/VIAA/1/16/219

Main scientific results of the 12th period (01.07.-30.09.2020): Research activities for the achievement of resultative outcomes of the work package (WP) 3 were completed:
A publication paper entitled “Determination of fungi and multi-class mycotoxins in Camelia sinensis and herbal teas and dietary exposure assessment” was published in Open Access journal “Toxins” indexed in Scopus (link, Cite score in 2019: 5.1). This result fulfils the planned scientific result – know-how, as it ensures the dissemination of knowledge about the safety of traditional and herbal teas available for Latvian consumers (deliverable 3.2 “description of know-how” of WP 3).
A scientific publication “Determination of 27 mycotoxins in grain cereals and legumes by nano flow liquid chromatography in combination with Orbitrap-high resolution mass spectrometry” was submitted for the consideration of publication in an internationally cited journal indexed in Scopus databases (deliverable 3.4 “submitted or published scientific paper” of WP 3).
Latvian patent No. LV15490A “Method for the detection of mycotoxins in fermented alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage made from grain or berries” was received (in Latvian: “Mikotoksīnu noteikšanas paņēmiens raudzētā graudu vai ogu alkoholiskā vai bezalkoholiskā dzērienā”).
The final reports of the project outcomes have been attached to post-doctoral researchers’ profiles in Mendeley (accessible only for Elsevier users) and ResearchGate digital platforms.

The cooperation institution is The State Education Development Agency (SEDA). Project duration is 36 months. Total costs are 133 806 EUR where 85% is financed by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
