Implementation of the Research project proposal No. 1.1.1.2/VIAA/1/16/219 “Development and application of mass spectrometric methods for the occurrence assessment of regulated and emerging mycotoxins in agricultural and dairy products in Latvia, providing contribution to the priority bio-economy sectors” has been started

On October 1, 2017, scientific institute BIOR concluded an implementation contract with the National Education Development Agency (SEDA) of the research application No.1.1.2 / VIAA / 1/16/219 “Development and application of mass spectrometric methods for the occurrence assessment of regulated and emerging mycotoxins in agricultural and dairy products in Latvia, providing contribution to the priority bio-economy sectors”.

Over the first month of the project implementation, overview on the scientific literature of analytical methods for mycotoxin analysis was performed. The studies resulted in collection of information of mycotoxin analytes, which should be determined in blue and white mold cheeses, grains and other matrices, which have been selected for the analysis according to project’s planned activities. Analysis of the latest scientific literature on sample preparation methods for selective multi-mycotoxin analysis in different matrices was also performed.

Cooperation institution VIAA. Project duration is 36 months. The total cost of the project is EUR 133 806, of which 85% is financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
