Progress report of the tenth period of the post-doctoral research project 1.1.2/VIAA/1/16/219
Main activities of the 10th period (01.01.-31.03.2020):
- Work on the know-how dedicated to the evaluation of gamma-radiation sterilization application for the control of mycotoxins in agricultural products was started (WP3 resultative indicator 3.1). The contents of regulated mycotoxins and fungi were evaluated in grain and other crop samples, which were sterilised by radiation the previous project period. The work on the description of the knowledge will be finished on the next reporting period.
- Scientific paper "Occurrence and dietary exposure assessment of mycotoxins, biogenic amines and heavy metals in mould-ripened blue cheeses" was published in the open access journal “Foods” (resultative indicator 3.3 of WP3).
- Work on the dataset development for mycotoxin co-occurrence studies in grains and legumes grown in Latvia is in the progress.
- Work on the scientific publication on the evaluation of mycotoxin content in Camellia sinensis and herbal teas distributed in Latvia started in the previous period was continued.
- A poster on the study of mycotoxins in traditional teas was presented during the International Scientific Symposium "Science for Sustainable and Safe Food System" (30-31.01.2020, Riga, National Library of Latvia) organized within the framework of the 10th anniversary of the scientific Institute “BIOR”. (knowledge-transfer to society, WP4)).
- - Participation in the networking activity of the EEA-Norwegian Financial Mechanism "Baltic Research Program" Lithuanian Call for Baltic Researchers on 5.02.2020. in Vilnius, Lithuania, Research Council conference room. During the event, contacts were made by discussing research on mycotoxin and other contaminant metabolite and biomarker studies in agricultural products and wastewater with Lithuanian and Estonian researchers (WP4).
