The principal decision-making body of Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment “BIOR” is the Scientific Council consisting of scientists from such basic scientific areas as veterinary medicine, fisheries, food and environment. The Scientific Council is elected at the general meeting of the Institute’s scientists for the period of five years.

The Scientific Council approves activities and development strategy of the Institute and determines the areas of activity of the Institute. The Scientific Council also elects the director, academic staff, and other administrative officials of the Institute.
