Experts from G.Natadze Scientific-research institute of Sanitary, Hygiene, and Medical Ecology (GNHI) visited The Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment “BIOR” on August 19, 2022 to exchange experience in diagnostics and risk assessment of chemical and biological hazards.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the testing of food for food contact materials including, but not limited to, plasticizers, food, metals, glass, wood and paper.
Director of “BIOR” Mr. Aivars Bērziņš emphasized the usefulnes and necessity of such meetings and together with GNHI colleagues agreed to continue the fruitful cooperation in the area of risk assessment by exchange of experts and possible joint research projects in the future.
GNHI is one of the oldest research and teaching institutions in Georgia, the origin of which dates back to the end of the 18th century, specifically, to 1892, when for the first time, the Chemical Testing Laboratory for Food Safety and Quality control was established by the Georgian Government in Tbilisi, Georgia.
