Baltic International Trawl Survey (BITS) carried out in March 2017

From 9th to 20th March 2017 specialists of Fish Resources Research Department of the Institute “BIOR” carried out their part of the Baltic International Trawl Survey (BITS) in the Latvian, and Estonian EEZ.
The survey took place on the rented research vessel “BALTICA” of the Polish Sea Fisheries Institute (MIR). Five researchers participated to the survey. The hydroacoustic survey in bottom layer was carried out. Using the scientific trawl TV3 930 the trawling in 28 tracks was made. During the survey fish samples were collected – biological analysis and length measurements of cod, plaice, herring and sprat were collected.

Oceanographic data in 33 stations and 11 samples of ichthyoplankton were collected during the survey additionally.
